AUDIOGEM for the Scientific Research

AUDIOGEM for the Scientific Research

In the bioacoustic field such a software can have many applications.

Features useful for bioacoustic research have been developed in cooperation with CIBRA where the Audiogem software is used to experiment distributed environmental monitoring through both wired and wireless networks of low power PCs.

Also, it is used during marine mammal's acoustic surveys on oceanographic ships to digitize multichannel signals from towed arrays very close to the array cable termination to minimize interferences and then distribute the uncompressed audio stream to multiple PCs for real-time data analysis, classification and recording.

The software can be also used in laboratory and training applications where a high quality audio stream needs to be distributed to multiple PCs for processing or just for training operators. In multimedia exhibits Audiogem can be used to distribute either uncompressed audio to multiple locations for recreating complex 3D soundscapes.

The ultrasonic audio capabilities of AUDIOGEM was developed with the contribution of the Interdisciplinary Center for Bioacoustics and Environmental Research - University of Pavia.
